Ahhhh, 2020 has been so tough, just thinking about it makes you wanna hit the road and take a day-long treatment at the nearest spa center, right? I mean, we could all use a bit of rewinding and rebooting at this point. But, alas, the pandemic is still rocking the planet and we are still stuck in our homes. Sooo, where does this leave us? Well, still at home.

On a more problem-solving note, if you can’t go to the spa, bring the spa to you. Refreshing your bathroom so it resembles a lush and awe-inducing interior of a spa center has never been more necessary than at this very moment. Yes, I am very serious. The world is pretty much going crazy and you can’t do anything to help it, so try and help yourself. A project such as this one is the perfect starting point.

1. Bring in the light

If you are about to start redesigning your bathroom, expanding that little window on the south-east wall that overlooks the yard or the city(I’m just guessing) should be imperative. Spa centers are open and full of natural light and if you want your bathroom to resemble one, the window should be your starting point.

2. Get rid of the dingy old tiles and replace them with a cool mosaic

Mosaics have always been are all the rage when it comes to a bathroom redecorating, and 2021 is no exception. Replacing your old tiles is the biggest step of this whole process, so you shouldn’t be discouraged. After this is done, your bathroom will already largely resemble a top-notch spa center.

3. White furnishings are the way to go

White will do miracles to visually open and widen the space. Reflective and fresh, white bathroom furnishings are your best option, especially if you are dealing with a smaller bathroom, or if you are unable to create a window.

4. Mirror, mirror on the wall…

Having large reflective surfaces is a must, especially if your bathroom lacks light, so mirrors are the next best thing. You can go for several smaller ones, strategically positioned all around your bathroom, or you can go for one or two larger ones on your sink-wall.

5. In with nature!

Bring in your favorite greenery and place it here and there throughout your bathroom, and the same goes for wooden details. It’s just a minor step, but it will do miracles for transforming your bathroom into a comfy and fabulous spa.
