5 Tiny Kitchens That Are Big On Style

Mar 16, 2018 by NONAGON.style

The struggle of having a small kitchen is all too familiar. There’s often so little space to prepare meals, and barely any room to store your groceries after a big shopping spree. But having a stylish kitchen isn’t impossible, especially if you’re looking to go beyond a minimal kitchen. Here are 5 small kitchens that prove you don’t need a lot of space to be functional and chic.

Being an interior designer, Gaila sure knows how to bring playfulness to her tiny kitchen.

Despite not having a kitchen island or a wall full of shelves, she makes use of the space below the sink for all her kitchenware. The kitchen backsplash takes the spotlight with geometric tiles that give off a 3D effect. Of course, she keeps her most used kitchen tools accessible by hanging them on a rod, adding a nice accent to the backsplash.

On the top floor of a 1934 tenement building, this kitchen belongs to a young couple who work in Krakow.

While the kitchen features a minimal backsplash with a natural wooden countertop common in Scandi-styled spaces, the ceramic plates placed delicately above the sink are the main inspiration for the apartment’s design. One of the plates even features an image of their Aunt Sophia, giving the kitchen a personal feel. The knobs below the sink are patterned too!

This kitchen has all the characteristics that would make it a minimal space, from white subway tiles to a neatly designed cupboard system. But only to shine the light on the statement wall on top of the sink. I love the bright hues of the tropical print, that give a refreshing look the kitchen. The arabesque-style floor tiles also bring out the playfulness of the wall.

The walls may glow in a cool shade of gray but they’re no match for the sunny yellow cupboards that sandwich the kitchen stove.

Located in a Spanish vacation home, this kitchen makes the case for mixing bright colors. What’s usually considered a functional area is made a trendy hangout spot with two-toned walls and a muted green window shade. Let’s not forget to mention the brilliant use of wooden pegs on the walls, allowing adaptability as one can move the shelves around with ease.
