AFFORDABLE AUTUMN DECOR: 10 BUDGET-FRIENDLY IDEAS
Autumn season is officially upon us you stylish folks! Crispier air and hints of gold on the trees are already here, so it is due time to start decorating our homes accordingly. Nature will take care of the autumn magic outdoors, but it is on you to create the autumn magic indoors.
Fall is known as a cozy season. Warm earthy tones, wool blankets, smells of baking chestnuts, and pumpkin spice lattes, are what this season of chunky knitted sweaters and petrichor is usually associated with. Creating these same vibes indoors is quite easy, but not getting carried away and staying within your budget is not. Here are 10 awesome pieces of advice for a budget-friendly autumn decor.
1. AUTUMN WREATH
Nothing says “I love autumn” quite like a charming wreath made of some golds, greens, and copers. You can buy an affordable wreath in your local decor store, or you can make this your DIY project and make your autumn wreath out.
2. FALL FOLIAGE ARRANGEMENT
This one won’t cost you anything and it will definitely bring those cozy autumn vibes into your home. Go for a vintage vase or pot, and choose different-sized leaves, just like you’d do with flowers. Go for fiery red maple leaves with dawn redwood on the outer side. Sunflowers are always terrific as centerpieces for fall bouquets, but you can also make small roses of freshly fallen oak trees, or just pick some anemones or asters.
3. STACK PUMPKINS
Yes, you’ve read that well. Stack pumpkins of different sizes everywhere. Add a couple on your coffee table, on your bookshelves, on your work desk… The sky is the limit when decorating with pumpkins during autumn.
4. MAKE A GARLAND
Garlands are usually reserved for Christmas time, but autumn garlands have always been quite popular as well. My personal favorites are easy-to-make corn husk garlands, but you can also use leaves or dried flowers.
5. PINE CONES
When it comes to decorating for autumn, pine cones are almost as great as pumpkins. You can place them on random terracotta plates all over your home, and they will never look out of place.
6. MUMS ARE THE WAY TO GO
We already talked about the importance of curb appeal in one of our previous articles, and mums will immensely boost your curb appeal during the autumn season. Once those first buds begin to show, your house will be the star of the neighborhood.
7. IN WITH THE BRANCHES
This one may sound silly, but it actually works like a charm during the autumn season. You can add tall red or gray dogwood branches to any arrangements in your home, grace your mantel or kitchen cabins with contorted beech branches, and voila! The autumn is inside your home!
8. WOOL BLANKETS AND COVERS EVERYWHERE
Bring out all of the wool stuff from your closet and just place it randomly throughout your home. Autumn is the season of comfort and coziness, and nothing says cozy quite like the wool.
9. WOVEN PIECES ON DISPLAY
Move your woven baskets and plates from your shelves and cabinets on the wall. This seemingly pointless step will add more dimension to your freshly decorated space, but it will also add another layer of warm texture.
10. COPPER THIS AND THAT
Hang out the copper pots and pans in your kitchen, put your copper candelabras on display, and switch your golden-colored frames for copper… Copper really fits perfectly with any autumn color scheme you decide to implement.
These are just some of the many affordable ways for you to decorate during this magical season. Autumn is truly the most diverse time of the year in terms of natural decor, so feel free to tell us some of your budget-friendly ideas in the comment section below.
