BEST CELEBRITY INTERIOR DESIGN COLLABS
At this point in time, with everything being available to us with just a couple of clicks, our favorite celebrities seem almost like our friends. We look up to them, gossip about them, write fanfic about them, and even buy what they tell us to buy. Some celebs use this power to earn more cash, some abuse it, while some use it to showcase their other talent and enrich the world.
So (*claps into the void), as much as I wanted to trash some interior design collabs, my boss was adamant about making this a positive post. Needless to say, I side-eyed Miranda Kerr’s tea mugs and nodded like the good lil employee I am. Here are five of the best celebrity interior design collabs, with a lil honorable mention in the end.
LENNY KRAVITZ AND CB2
Lenny Kravitz founded his creative studio called Kravitz Design back in 2003 and he’s been working successfully in the design field ever since. His collaboration with the famous furniture and decor company was forged in 2015 and it is still relevant to this day. Kravitz’s fancy for industrial design is obvious in his furniture pieces, but every piece also holds an undoubtedly retro flair softening it up and making it perfect for virtually every interior design enthusiast.
IRIS APFEL AND CLOTH & COMPANY
“Taste you can learn, but style is like charisma. You know it when you see it.”, said Iris Apfel, and we couldn’t agree more with the fashion icon. her impeccable style is well known and her collaboration with Cloth & Company is just another testament to it. Apfel’s glorious furniture pieces are chic and colorful, and her personal stamp is obvious. Apfel’s designs are always superbly unique, on the verge of being eccentric and that is exactly what makes them statement-makers and must-haves in every stylish home.
BRAD PITT AND POLLARO
It all started when Brad Pitt ordered a desk from Pollaro Custom Furniture. He quickly realized that he and Frank Pollaro share the same vision when it comes to design. They spent the next four years working together on furniture pieces that will become known as a Pitt-Pollaro collection. “Designed by Pitt, built by Pollao. Made in the USA.” Every piece is thought-provoking and geometrically stunning, merging style and practicality with futuristic outlines.
LISA VANDERPUMP AND NICK ALAIN
What? Unexpected? We have to give credit where credit is due, and this collaboration is definitely one of our favorites. Lisa Vanderpump’s zeal for elegant and glamorous pieces and Nick Alain’s immense manufacturing expertise and exceptional design are proving to be quite a force to be reckoned with. Some of their projects include TomTom which was voted Southern California’s best bar and the fabulous Vanderpump Cocktail Garden in Ceasar’s Palace.
MANDY MOORE AND SUTTERFLY
Now this one is our number five because it is more of an interior decor than a design collab, but it’s still on the list because it is amazing. Actress and singer Mandy Moore is already well-known for her passion for interior design and love of mid-century modern. Her Pasadena home has been featured in Architectural Digest and Moore herself is stylishly documenting it on her Instagram. Her collaboration with Shutterfly includes a variety of playful but elegant home decor items and accessories, that will instantly jazz up any space.
HONORABLE MENTION
KANYE WEST AND AXEL VERVOORDT
We all know how design-savvy Kanye West is, so his collaboration with a famous Belgian designer is not a surprise. Together, Vervoordt and West created some stunning furniture for Kanye’s office. The designer’s passion for minimalism and rustic finishes worked like magic with Kanye’s love for brutalism in all its boldness. The only reason why this collab is an honorable mention is that the pieces created are not available for purchase.
There you go… Disappointed? Did you expect some of the Kardashian clan members? Sorry… Well, sorry, not sorry.
PS. A lil shade never killed anybody.
