Dove Mosaic Designs

Cute white mosaic doves.

The dove is recognized as a universal symbol of harmony, peace, and love. In Christianity, these snow-white birds represent hope, purity, and innocence. In the Old Testament, Noah released a dove to see if it could find dry land, and it returned with an olive leaf in its beak. The Never-Ending Source, featuring two doves seeking respite from a font of water, takes on a spiritual meaning.

The macaw is a large, long-tailed parrot with brightly colored feathers. The bird is native to Central and South America but is now considered an endangered species. As you can imagine, macaws are colorful, bold, and loud. But that’s what makes them the life of the party. This type of bird has a vibrant flair, and an energetic personality to match.

The yellow-breasted chat is a songbird that is larger than a sparrow but smaller than a robin. This fascinating bird symbolizes joy and positivity. Contrary to what its name suggests, chats typically stay well hidden. They feed on insects and berries. The males sing a bizarre series of hoots, whistles, and clucks to court nearby females in the spring.

Finches

The National Audubon Society describes the house finch as “adaptable, colorful, and cheery-voiced.” They are common from coast to coast, as well as familiar visitors to bird feeders. Far from being solitary birds, finches tend to forage for food as a flock. They fly to backyard bird feeders for seeds and even to hummingbird feeders for sugar water. Finches are full of zest. The brightness of their plumage is said to be determined by the quality of their diet.

Cranes can be found across the globe, but their numbers have been dwindling due to hunting and habitat destruction. These stunning birds live in marshes and plains, eating small animals and grain. Cranes are among the world’s longest-living birds. It is no surprise that East Asian cultures associate these feathered creatures with peace, purity, good fortune, and longevity.
