The Mosaicists of the Future
All children are potential mosaic artists and that is amazing
September is the baby safety month and on the surface of things, it might seem that we as mosaic artists and interior designers don’t have much to do with it…I am here to argue that we certainly do.
So, you know how art is mostly related to something serious and how most people who aren’t “artsy” think of it as a boring subject they should avoid? Unless a particular art piece is a product of the pop scene, it tends to be perceived as less fun and understandable. This particular notion doesn’t have to be problematic, but it also can be if you are trying to make your child fall in love with art as such. Kids don’t want to be bored, but they also don’t want to be taken lightly, so you need to walk that fine line between constructive enjoyment and careless fun.
Needless to say, mosaic art is by far one of the most engaging and “useful” art forms there is. You will notice my use of the quotation marks, simply because art doesn’t have to be useful per se, but mosaic art nonetheless is. It is beautiful, intricate and it requires years of studying in order to gain and polish the skill to do it properly. The value of the mosaic art as such is virtually undefinable, as the effort that goes into it greater than with most other art forms. Getting your child into the craft of mosaic art is one of the best things you can do for your kid. Through mosaic craftsmanship, your child will expand her/his creativity and learn all about self-discipline and observation. Not to mention that your child will gain an actual practical mastery that he can earn a living with, as well as respect and admiration of his peers. Mosaic art can truly help your child build character and establish himself as a person.
Some of the best mosaic artists of today started learning when they were at a very young age. Dany Shas, one of the best mosaicists in the world with a flair for a traditional style, started crafting his skill as a small boy watching his father build marvelous art pieces.
The renowned mosaic genius Nezar Stef fell in love with mosaic art as a child and today he has one of the best mosaic portfolios in the world and over 45 years of experience in creating mosaic art.
Sophie Laroche, an acclaimed mosaicist known for her terrific portraits and abstract designs, was just a small girl when she watched her grandfather craft his gorgeous mosaic pieces in his studio in France.
These are some challenging times for our youth. Do not let your children grow DOWN and become aimless bots of society. Give your children a proper field to build their individuality and hone some amazing skills. Learning about technology is all fun and dandy, but learning art can and should complement it making your kid a well rounded and successful individual.
